[Name]: Hikae Nibyou
[Canon]: Itsuwaribito Utsuho
[Age]: 564
[Gender]: male
[Canon Point]: chapter 210

[History]:
Hikae’s mother didn’t want him, and before he was born, he was, so to say, ‘removed’. He wasn’t born, he wasn’t alive, but he wasn’t quite dead either. He was closer to a bodyless soul, that wished for nothing more than to be alive and have a body. And God noticed this, giving him an immortal body. But it wasn’t out of kindness that he gave Hikae a body. He wanted Hikae to protect the Kokonotsu Treasure, God’s Treasures, that had belonged to God’s most precious person; Mana. She had been murdered by humans who were envious of her, and he wanted her back. And for that, he needed body parts. Hikae was created to collect those parts, and he did so happily. God was the most important person in existence to Hikae.

For several hundred years, he brought the people who he ‘befriended’, who were after the Kokonotsu, over to God, and killed them without a second thought.

Until Minori.

Minori had managed to gather all the Kokonotsu by herself, without spilling a single drop of blood, and Hikae thought that surely, she would be perfect. She taught him about life, and it was she who made him stop thinking “I want to be alive”, and instead got him to think "I don't want to die". He was the first one he cared about, that he thought that he didn't want to die. He didn't want to lose her. But in the end, she was murdered for God's sake, and it was then that Hikae realized that it was all for nothing. It was pointless, because if not even Minori's body could create a new Mana, no one could. It was when she died that Hikae discovered that he too is able to cry. After her death he changes his entire personality to match hers, with some alterations.

Years later, he met Utsuho, and they played a game with the Eyestone, one of the treasures, as the prize. It was just a simple game of memory cards, just because he thought it was amusing.

He started travelling with them, though he didn’t tell them the truth about his past, claiming that he had been an itsuwaribito 500 years ago, and that God eventually gave him immortality. Their 'family' grew, both with him, and later on, with others. He became really close to Iwashi, even though he didn't want to care for anyone again. He was really happy, and they didn't even shun him when they found out he was immortal.

But he knew he would have to kill them eventually, and in the end he told them the truth about his past and about the Treasure. They decided to help him save God, and he thought that if anyone could do it, it would be them. When they scolded him for talking about willingly dying it made him happy, but still sad, since he was already determined to sacrifice his life for the God he loved.

When they reached God, he transformed into his monster-cat form, and it seemed like he was going to kill them. But instead, he created a passageway in the floor, so that they could find a way to save God. For it, he was wounded badly, God even severing one of his arms, and one of his legs. Hikae turned back to his human shape, cracks all over him. And after telling God that there was no way he could betray him, and that they were there to save God, he scattered to pieces, leaving nothing but his clothes left, his body dust in the wind.

[Personality]:
To Hikae, the most important thing is having fun. People who are boring or too down to earth are worthless to him, as seen when he tells Neya and Yakuma that their lives has no value, and that they should go die. He thinks life is meaningless if there’s nothing interesting going on. He loves laughing, and doesn’t care if it’s at others or his own expense. He will gladly laugh at others misfortune and loves masochistic jokes. He likes hearing about amusing things, even if it’s all lies. He hates boring and dumb things, and he finds Pochi and Utsuho amusing, which is why he said yes when Utsuho asked if he wanted to come with them....never mind that he would have followed them anyway, if Utsuho didn’t invite him. He will happily forget about common sense and morals if it’s for the sake of having fun or fulfilling his curiosity. This is the part of himself that Hikae will openly show. He has quite the morbid sense of humour, and likes to laugh at other's mistakes and misfortune. He has a habit of laughing when he shouldn't, and can be quite cruel.

Thing is, Hikae actually started out not really caring about anything, and was pretty close to being like Yakuma, in terms of seriousness. The only thought that had been on his mind before God ‘created’ him was that he wanted to live, but it was all the same since he couldn’t die anyway. The only thing that really mattered was doing what God wanted him to; and he did it no matter what. But that all changed when he travelled with Minori. She made him want more than just live. She made him want not to die, and that made a huge difference to his personality. He wanted more out of life, and so he started to try and enjoy himself. Though he still doesn’t care much about others, knowing that he will either have to kill them later on, or watch them grow old and die. He doesn't want to get too close to others again, as getting close to Minori had hurt too much, as he without realizing fell for her, even though he knew she was bound to die for God's sake. He still hasn't realized it, but after her death he based his personality on hers, if a more cruel version due to his constant entanglement with death.

He lies a lot, and initially lied about his past when he started to travel with Utsuho. He isn’t particularly trustworthy when it comes to words, but he won’t hesitate to protect the people he cares for, which he will do with his body since he's immortal and won't die either way. And, to his dismay, he starts to care about Utsuho and his group of friends and adopted family. This troubles Hikae a lot, since he has sworn to kill everyone who reaches God’s place, and Utsuho is searching for the Treasure that will lead him there. And Hikae doesn’t want to kill them, so he tells Utsuho to stop looking, but Utsuho refuses. He tells them that it would have been better if he wasn’t there, that they shouldn’t be around him, but none of them listened, and that made him worry. Because he doesn’t want to make the same mistake he did with Minori, Hikae makes himself come off as aloof and uncaring, even when he starts to care for them.

During the later parts of his journey with Utsuho and the others, he came to trust them enough to tell them the truth about God and the Kokonotsu, which was a very big deal for him. He had changed from wanting to do what God wanted him to, because nothing would bring Mana back, but he was unable to betray God, being His creation. So he decided he wanted to save God, even if he died, knowing that God was the only one able to kill him. This shows that he grew to value friendship, and the people he had travelled with, in a way that he previously hadn’t. He doesn't trust others with his secrets very easily, but when he does he will do anything for those he trusts, even if it means having to trust the others to save God, who ultimately is the one he cares for the most.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
✖He’s immortal. Sometimes it seems like he does die, but he will soon heal and be back up again. For example, he collapses and dies when getting impaled by Banda, but he hardly reacts when he gets an arrow straight through his head. Only the God who created him in able to actually kill him. And the mist.
✖He can transform his hand into a monster-like hand with claws, as well as transform his entire body into a huge monster-kitty.
✖Drugs, poisons, hallucinations and illusions doesn’t work on him, as seen when he sees through the illusions in the Hokorai Village, when none of the others could.
✖Other than that, he’s a really strong fighter, his chosen weapon being a variant of the Tekagi-shuko, a type of hand claw.

✖Because of his immortality there's nothing that makes him run or cower in fear. If he's scared for someone's safety he will throw himself in their way to let himself get hurt.

[Limited Powers]:
None, if that's alright. He's immortal, but he doesn't have all that much magical fighting powers. He turns into a monster-cat, but the cat version can't use any special powers or anything. It's just a strong cat that can step on you. Maybe make his cat form smaller if needed? Elephant size, lion size or cats size, something like that? Please tell me if you prefer I make him a certain size.

♦ Thread: Scorched thread with Pitch here. Also one with Riku, and Angel. Plus Loki.
♦ Post:
[ He's sure he died, so ending up in a place completely different from where he's originally from is pretty surprising. Not that he minds in any way, he's actually very fond of surprises. ]

This isn't the afterlife? Haha, that's hilarious! You die and you still end up alive even when you think that's it! Bwahahaha! If this is where you go after you die I'm not sad at all. This place seems like fun, I've already seen some people who need to loosen up a bit. I'm gonna fix that.

[ Which of course means he's going to bug them until they snap. At least he's giving a warning today. ]
